IBCB's Outreach Programs
Currently our most important and significant outreach program is through IBCB’s tithing. As a church we give 10% of our gross receipts to other organizations. Each year the elders decide on the allocation of this amount. Last year (2016) we supported the following organizations:
Our two parent umbrella organizations
Hungarian Baptist Union http://www.baptist.hu/
The Hungarian Baptist Union is a member of the European Baptist Federation, the Baptist World Alliance, and the World Council of Churches. According to the 2011 Baptist World Alliance statistics, membership included 11,512 believers in 309 congregations. Headquarters of the Union are maintained in Budapest. Its affiliated ministries include Hungarian Baptist Aid.
International Baptist Convention (IBC) http://ibc-churches.org/
The International Baptist Convention (IBC) is a fellowship of 65 churches in 26 countries in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and the Americas. Our mission is to mobilize and multiply disciple-making churches, reaching people from around the globe for Christ. Its core strategies for this are: Multiplying Churches, Strengthening Churches, Empowering Leaders, Building Connections, and Developing Resources.
Word of Life Hungary http://en.eletszava.org/
Word of Life is a two-year institute that equips 50-60 college students a year to develop a strong biblical foundation so that they can serve Christ. Word of Life has six campuses located in the United States, Canada, South Korea, Uganda and Hungary. It faithfully sends 4-5 student leaders every Sunday to minister with our Kingdom Kids (K-5th grade).
Hungarian Baptist Aid (HBA) http://www.hbaid.org/hungarian-baptist-aid
HBAid provides regular relief assistance, by providing physical humanitarian aid as well as emotional and psychological support. It implements these programs in 18 countries around the world for needy and socially marginalized people in order to ease their difficult situation and give them a chance to have a more humane life
HBAid's purpose is to meet the emotional, psychological and physical needs of the destitute whether this is on an occasional or regular basis, within or outside Hungary, regardless of the person's origin, nationality, religion, or race.
Nevtelen Utak (Servants Anonymous affiliate) http://nevtelenutak.hu/rolunk (Hungarian only)
Whose parent organization is https://www.safoundation.com/vision-mision/ of Canada.
Servants Anonymous initiates the development of programs and services for young women between the ages of 16 and 29, who have been or are at risk of becoming, sexually exploited and/or trafficked.
The SA Foundation is one of few organizations internationally that offers a comprehensive and uniquely designed long-term recovery program for these young women, including those that are pregnant and/or have children.
Shout for Life Hungary (no current website)
Shout for Life’s mission is to save lives from abortion, by bringing people to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ and also to bring healing to those who had a previous abortion.
Special Outreach Event:
Christmas: Just before Christmas each year we hold a special candlelight service when we invite the English speaking Christian community of Budapest to celebrate the birth of Christ with family and friends.
